Losing my job—a blessing in disguise? Could be!

Yesterday (26 January 2010), I got word my housekeeping position at Macy's is being eliminated as part of a store restructuring, designed to standardise every store in the chain.  I had suspected a redundancy was in the works, but then got word my job was safe.


That was not to be the case.


But it may be the case, as working conditions have been steadily declining for some time, and potentially interfering with my film making efforts.  Furthermore, I need to relocate to a larger city, such as Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo or elsewhere so that I can do more things.  Being in the Binghamton area is not doing me favours.


At least I have a timetable to work with, since the job ends sometime in March.  Some things are unknown, such as the final date, as well as how much severance pay I shall receive.  But done right, I could come out ahead!  Here's hoping!
