Merry Christmas ...

Merry Christmas, but ...

I do not celebrate the Nativity of Christ until 7 January 2010, because I am Eastern Orthodox.  Today seemed like such a blur, because I have to start work in less than 12 hours (4 a.m.).  Unreal, but true.

But I can do a lot of work the first week in January, as I will be on vacation.  Stay tuned!

BACK IN THE SADDLE!!!!

FINALLY … FINALLY!!!  I have my computer back, and it is operating on Windows 7, 64-bit!!!  It is running more smoothly, and should perform better—after all, this is the Professional version, 64-bit!  That means it is a more robust version, and better able to handle video making.  More details to follow!!!

Insomnia and a stubborn computer

I tried to install Windows 7 on my computer on Sunday, 22 November, but failed.  There seem to be issues with the computer settings, specifically the BIOS.  I am not giving up on the upgrade, though.  Right now, though, I have work to do on Web sites, Catwomanfan.com included, and a film to complete.

In the meantime, I fell asleep in the early evening on the 27th, and now I am awake at 1:21 a.m.  I hope to get a little more rest before getting up to go to work, and put in my time before having two days off.

It came!

My copy of Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit arrived TODAY!  Talk about quick service!  Now the task of computer upgrading has begun!  More details to follow!

Facing an upgrade

Over this past weekend, I ordered Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit.  I will install this onto a new hard drive as a clean install, and plan on migrating my data onto this drive.  This is the first step in needed upgrades for my computer so that I can produce films more easily.

Which means it has a bearing on Carrie's World.

Also planned are boosts to my RAM, as well as a new power supply, a video card and SONY Vegas.  Eventually, this will also mean getting the latest MS Office.  But all in due time.

Likewise, I also need an upgrade in my employment for 2010, ideally in the Albany-Schenectady-Troy area.  Despite all that is going on, I remain committed to the fan series, and look forward to production!

Onward to Albany—again!

Today seems to be a day in which I am playing catchup on a number of things.  To be frank, I do not like observing Halloween because of my religious sensitivities; I am Eastern Orthodox, and is a holiday that was encouraged by Oliver Cromwell to disrespect saints in the Roman Catholic Church (and by extension, Eastern Orthodox saints as well).

But the big deal is that I am off to Albany for the day, attending a comic con.  This is strictly business, as I need to confer with my friends in the region about the fan series.  Sadly, things have stalled a bit, as I am working on finishing off Batman 1969 and on upgrading both my computer and my employment.  Indeed, I am facing a possibility of termination by February 2010 because of corporate restructuring.  But I need to get out so that I can be in a place of my own, ideally in New York's Capital District.

As for the computer, the Vista operating system seems to be getting corrupted, and that is leading me to put in an interim version of Windows 7 on another drive.  This is only a temporary fix, as I plan on getting Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.  This is only the beginning of the upgrades planned, as this computer will be used for editing film.  And believe me, I need the added horsepower.

For those attending the Con in Albany, I will see you tomorrow!!!

It's a wrap—for Batman 1969!

Filming for Batman 1969 finished on 26 September 2009 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  It has taken two years and a month, and there have been many struggles involved, but the fact that the footage is "in the can" is gratifying indeed!!

Now on to editing the footage and getting it readied so that we can move ahead with Carrie's World!!

Stalled

I find it aggravating that my fan series is temporarily stalled. But my current fan film that I have had in production is taking priority, and it has to get completed, so that I can have something to show for my efforts over the past two years.

Tonight, I got great news: James Rowe, a friend of mine who worked with me on Batman 1969, has done a Carrie Kelley Robin outfit, based partly on Roberta the Girl Wonder (at left). Her outfit will be cut like that of the one Burt Ward and Jill St. John wore in the 1966 Batman series.

This really solves a problem I have had with the series: Outfitting the performers. God bless James for his work!

But I face challenges ahead, such as a possible loss of my job. Money is a problem right now. But I am intent on relocation to Albany and on securing a better job! God knows I have my work cut out for me! But so it goes!

Saratoga dreaming!

I was glad to be in Saratoga County last weekend. One week ago today, I drove through there via Oneonta and Schenectady, and it went well. I managed to film my Harley Quinn (Stephanie Ward) and my Joker "Mini-Me" (Coty Clark, aged 15) on Friday in Greenfield Center and in Ballston Spa. I would have done more in Saratoga Springs, but the traffic was a concern.

I attended a car show Saturday afternoon on Schenectady, and that went well. God willing, I will be able to use a 1968 Ford Thunderbird that was displayed there, for Batman 1969. It was gorgeous! I loved the vintage Fords there!

And I look forward to filming the fan series there!
